Surf Camp Down Under was founded in Yamba in 2016 with a pretty simple idea, share our love of surfing and give people an unforgettable experience in the ocean.
Our coaches bring decades of combined coaching experience, from working at surf schools around the world to coaching complete beginners, kids and experienced surfers right here in Yamba.
We genuinely love what we do and you can't fake the smiles when someone catches a wave for the first time. 🤙

Shayno SUTHERLAND
Founder • Head Coach • Ocean Addict
Growing up from humble beginnings, Shayno has turned his passion into his career. With over 20 years coaching experience, Shayno not only is a new father to his baby boy Otis but has now worked with everyone from complete beginners to Olympic Athletes, World #1 Para athletes, and alongside some of the best surf caoches in the world. Its safe to say with all his experience he still hasnt lost his passion, its just gotten stronger
COURTNEY ANN
Founder • Coach • Ocean Lover
Growning up in mid lands England, Courtney really knows what it is like to learn how to surf as an adult with no experience, Now after 10 years surfing and (ripping btw) Courtney brings a light to those who are wishing to learn a new skill, When she isnt surfing at the beach she is busy running her other business SCDU FIT and being a role model to the Youth of the Clarence Valley. Did I mention she is a super mumma to her new born son Otis.

Don't get fooled by Nic's gourgeous long blonde locks, the man behind the hair is nothing short of an amazing role model to all people passing through SCDU. He not only gives each and every participant 200% effort, he also genuinly loves seeing people improve and progress. When Nic isnt surfing you will find him at his other happy place Clarence Valley Cross Fit (and yes he can lift more than all of us)
